Copilot for Operation: Özge's 1 Day

Although there is no logistics department in a B2B software company, there is a team that carries an equivalent load; operation department. Whether it's marketing, sales, technical support, or billing controls of Microsoft software, it's a huge team that works behind the scenes of the operation. Operational issues are so important that this department can incur high costs, so resolving these issues quickly is always a top priority.

Since Özge is in the role of Operations Manager of Makronet, she has to follow all operational processes related to licensing. These processes include compliance and adequacy of licenses, payment models, consultancy processes, and much more. Of course, there is much more responsibility that comes with being a senior manager, and keeping up with all of them can sometimes exhaust Özge.

With all this and more workload, Özge started to spend more time for herself, so we knocked on her door and asked her the secret: Microsoft Copilot.

We asked Özge how she managed to get things right with Copilot, and look how she summed up her day:

"Copilot helps me speed up my operational processes. Thus, I can easily perform tasks that seem simple but can take hours and create my work-life balance."

7:00 a.m.

"Some mornings I have to go to work much earlier because I have meetings with Microsoft's global teams. I may need to learn license updates and apply them to our customers. In these meetings, Copilot is very useful."

She sits down with Microsoft's overseas teams to discuss the changes needed for Microsoft 365 license updates, and she uses Copilot for Teams to make sure she understands the process well: "Ask good follow-up questions to make sure I understand the impact of all the license updates that are being discussed on the operations process."

8:30 a.m.

"Sometimes, new licensing models can emerge and different pricing can confuse our customers. It's important to get a bird's eye view of all costs, and Copilot is an expert in data analytics."

Özge, yeni lisansları ve yeni yapılan değişikliklerin operayson maliyeti üzerindeki etkisini anlamak için Excel için Copilot’tan yararlanıyor: “{Öncelik 1} dosyasını baz alarak, ek maliyetleri gösteren bir tablo hazırla.”

9:00 a.m.

"Once I know about the new updates, I have to share it with all the teams. Combining data from disparate files into a single presentation now takes me seconds with Copilot."

Özge wants to prepare a presentation based on the Current Licensing Guide she has prepared, and she decides to add the cost analysis file to the presentation: "Create a presentation based on the {Current Licensing Guide} file."

11:00 a.m.

"I have a team to manage along with all my work. For example, I could miss incoming permission requests in e-mail traffic. Now that problem is gone."

Seeing the leave requests, Ozge asks Copilot for Outlook to write a confirmation email for the permissions: "Find all the leave emails I received this month and draft an email approving all of them."

2:00 p.m.

"Sometimes I invite our customers to lunch and we complete our meetings or topics in a pleasant face-to-face way. In the meantime, Copilot comes to my rescue for any meetings or emails that come in."

After the lunch meeting, Ozge uses Copiliot to review her new emails and draft responses. He also gets a summary of all the meetings his team has taken from Copilot for Teams, so he stays on topic: "Action items in the meeting, identify who proposed the items, and who is responsible."

4:00 p.m.

"Licensing models sometimes have long terms of use. Likewise, it can take time to master the details of the campaigns from the marketing department. Copilot is ideal for short and clear summaries."

To read the new license updates and learn about the current campaigns, Ozge needs to see the summary of the articles, for which she uses Copilot for Word: "Summarize the main points for me, make a new report and talk about the importance of the new licenses and campaigns in three paragraphs."
